The Knight Captain's Favour: Part I
Set between Act I and Act II
Several years ago, Knight Captain Cullen pledged to Garrett Hawke that he was in his debt for ridding the ranks of the Templars of demon infestation. Not long after that, Garrett tried to call in that favour by begging that his sister Bethany be allowed to go free instead of being taken to the mage prison known as the Gallows. The Knight Captain refused. Now several years and many angry confrontations later, Garrett has returned to the Gallows to call in the favour.

Part II
The Gallows was silent, a dark, looming shadow against the star speckled sky. Lights burned in a handful of windows, and there were of course a few Knights still patrolling the halls to make sure no mage tried to creep from their room after hours.
It was late, well past curfew, but at the moment smuggling Bethany past his own guards was the least of Cullen's problems. Eventually, Bethany broke his gaze, her chin trembling as she let out a soft sound that could have been the beginning of tears. It wrenched at his heart.
"Don't cry, Beth," he said, clambering around the edge of the bed in the small room. When he tried to put his arms around her, she skittered backwards, pressing herself against the wall and wiping her cheeks with the ba

The grey sky had just begun to lighten when he kissed her on the brow and murmured her name. She stirred and stretched with a yawn, before tensing when she realised she was still in his arms and still quite naked; the blush that bloomed over her cheeks was adorable and he kissed her nose gently.
"Good morning," he whispered.
Her smile was endearingly shy as she whispered "Um, good morning."
He kissed her softly and she moaned quietly, her hands creeping hesitantly up to his shoulders. He lost himself in her for a few minutes, that alluring taste making his head spin with need. When he finally broke away they were both panting sl
